Tenant “Kind of Offended” She Wasn’t Peeped on
September 30, 2008 –
Marcy Thewlis, a 27-year-old tenant of Thomas Daley–the Norristown landlord last week charged with electronically watching his female renters' "intimate moments"– yesterday admitted to being "kind of offended" to have found no hidden cameras in her one-bedroom apartment. "I'd probably be horrified to find out he'd been watching me," she said, glancing around her living room. "But in the back of my mind, y'know, it's like, 'What am I, chopped liver?' "
Thewlis' boyfriend, Jeremy Hill, 28, was similarly conflicted. "Now, obviously, I don't want some sick bastard watching Marcy; I'd knock his goddamn teeth out," he said. "All the same, though, what's wrong with her? What, she's not good enough for this guy?" Norristown detective Rick Nunzio, who arrested the 45-year-old Daley, offered no easy explanations. "If I were Ms. Thewlis, I'd be thankful I didn't have to go through what those other women had to go through," he said. "Even if, between you and me, she ain't exactly 'A' material."
Insult was added to injury by the revelation that in one four-unit Daley building, three female renters had been spied upon–with the lone untampered-with unit belonging to an elderly gentleman. "God, you know, I hope I'm nicer to look at than some crusty old guy," Thewlis said bitterly. "I don't know if it's wrong to say this, but I'm really kind of offended." She frowned into the mirror before adding, "God–Tom Daley is such a fucking creep."
